Fighter's walk: practising with a rope

This is the class/single person practice with rope. If you have nobody to practice with for your footwork, this is a good way to ensure your practice of footwork gets form. You tie a rope wall to wall. Then prepare by standing at the rope, at one wall. Move forward, ducking your head under the rope, maintaining footwork and guard. Very important not to duck back. In real combat, if u did that, u would have created too much space for a punch. So, for a good punch, you need to move into your target. So move ahead, when you duck. Reason I am emphasising this is for most people the natural instinct while ducking is to move the head back. Resist that, and move head ahead, to move forward and  into an imagined target for a punch. Move alternately this way, from right to left, ducking under the rope, always with head ahead, for a punch. Do this several times till the figher's walk becomes natural to you:)
